Gem State Comp....My Shining Moment!

I love dancing it's my life! This weekend I had a huge competition against teams from Idaho as well as Utah. Gem State competition works in two categories. Individual (couples) and team competing. Individual they have around 50 - 60 couples in the first round. Then the judges cut it in half to 25 couples for the quarter finals. Then you dance again and they cut that 25 in half depending how good you are. Then they cut the 25 to 12 for semi-finals. And yet they cut in half again to 6 for the finals. In finals the judges rate you and thats how you get your ribbons. So basically you have to last through 4 rounds of dancing to even get a ribbon. I took6th in waltz, 4th in cha cha, and 2nd in rumba. In our team competition they do smooth, latin, and rhythm. Our team did a smooth foxtrot and took 4th. And a latin samba and took second. I love dancing so much! And it helps to have a Mom that loves it as much as me to correct my mistakes!
